Proclamation Review Committee
The UDWR's Proclamation Review Committee (PRC) is made up of seven
members. The members include the Divisions Rules Coordinator,
Conservation Outreach Section Chief, Conservation Outreach Specialist,
Wildlife Licensing Coordinator, Wildlife or Aquatic Section Program
Coordinator, Law Enforcement Section representative, and a regional
representative.
The committees duties include making necessary changes to
a proclamation to provide consistency with other proclamations,
legislative changes, Utah Code, and language required by the Division
of Administrative Rules. The committee will make changes regarding
the current years season dates and bag limits, and discuss
other issues that need to be incorporated into the proclamation
and rule.
A draft proclamation is sent to the five Regional Advisory Councils
(RACs) for public comments or amendments. Following input from the
RACs, a final rough draft is prepared and presented to the members
of the Wildlife Board. Following public review at the board meeting,
the Wildlife Board then acts on the proclamation.
A final draft is prepared, incorporating any changes made by the
Wildlife Board. The PRC reviews the final draft before it is given
to the Publications Editor, who formats and forwards it to the printer.
Rules and proclamation changes are then distributed to the states
sportsmen.
